When we have staff openings at PSP, we seek applicants for positions in two categories: Employment Consultant and Job Coach/Teaching Assistant.
Employment Consultant
Responsibilities:
This is a social service/teaching
position that focuses on providing job development and job training to ensure
long term career success for people with developmental disabilities. Under
the supervision of the Operations Director, you will utilize your proven
capabilities and experience in working with people with developmental disabilities
to develop jobs, coach and train individuals in job-related tasks and behaviors,
and provide ongoing, on-site job support to PSP supported participants throughout
King County.
As a PSP Employment Consultant, you will work closely with adults with disabilities and their families/home support. You will also work intensively with public and private sector employers and their staff to develop dynamic job opportunities for our participants.
As our representative in the community, you will be dedicated to upholding our customer service ethic and will always present and conduct yourself in a professional manner.

- Have proven capabilities and experience in coaching and training individuals with developmental disabilities in job-related tasks and behaviors that support and maintain their employment success
- Have a Bachelors Degree in Human Services, Marketing, Special Education or a related field (Please note that a degree is not necessary to qualify for this position if the applicant has experience)
- Possess a passion for helping people with developmental disabilities find and maintain rewarding careers in the community
- Function effectively as a part of a team
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be a quick learner and a good problem solver
- Be dependable, trustworthy and prompt
- Have a clean driving record and no criminal record
- Have reliable transportation

Job Coach/Teaching Assistant
Responsibilities:
This is a social service entry level position within Puget
Sound Personnel. As an energetic, organized and professional member of
our staff, you will provide on-site job support to adults with developmental
disabilities throughout King County. Your work will entail working closely
with PSP program participants and their employers, as well as PSP’s internal
vocational staff.
- Hourly position at $10-$13.50 per hour, depending on experience
